If you’re like me, you desire to pray intentionally for those you love, but sometimes lack direction. Of course, the Holy Spirit is always interceding on our behalf and we don’t have to have the perfectly postured prayer to garner a response from our Heavenly Father {Romans 8:26-28}. However, we are commanded to pray.
Paul commands in Ephesians 6:17-28, “…take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”
My most important earthly relationship is with my husband. I desire to be a god-honoring wife who encourages my husband and loves him sacrificially. One way I can live out this desire is by regularly petitioning the Lord on his behalf.
Will you join me in committing to 31 days of purposeful prayer?
I have included a “31 Days of Praying for Your Husband” FREE printable calendar below to assist you! Place it somewhere you will see it everyday – your fridge, by the kitchen sink, your bathroom mirror, anywhere!
31 Prayers for Your Husband…
1. Pray your husband would fervently pursue the Lord and desire Him above all else.
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” {Psalm 73:25-26}
2. Pray your husband would strive to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ daily.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” {2 Peter 3:18}
3. Pray your husband would speak what is edifying to everyone around him; that he would build others up and use his words to glorify God.
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” {Ephesians 4:29}
4. Pray your husband would work with all his heart unto the Lord and glorify God with his talents.
“ Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” {Colossians 3:23-24}
5. Pray your husband would lead you with gentleness and walk in understanding with you as his wife.
“Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” {1 Peter 3:7}

15. Pray your husband would persevere through trials and rely on God’s strength.

16. Pray your husband would have clear direction in any decision, big or small, and the faith to follow where God leads.

25. Pray your husband would place his priorities in a God-honoring order.
